Race Results

With the 100 degree August heat SEMO Raceway made some heat of their own Saturday night as
contenders and race fans joined together for an exciting night of three to four wide dirt track kart racing.  In
the Stock Heavy class Dusty Baggett's record dominations
of this class was broken by fellow Paducah, KY resident Robert Lowery.  Lowery sitting on poll led the first 5
laps with Baggett & Derek Riley of Calvert City, KY close behind.  Lowery then fell back to the third spot
during lap 6 but fought hard and regained his lead by lap 9. Lowery held his lead to the finish taking his first
trip to victory lane at SEMO this 2003 racing season followed by Derek Riley with 2nd and Dusty Baggett
coming in 3rd.

In the beginners Yard Kart class for 6-8 year olds Destiney Scott of Jackson, MO came back for another
victory in her feature with Derrick Garner of Blodgett, MO knocking on her back door the entire 15 laps.  
Garner placed 2nd with Elijah King of Risco, MO coming in a respectable 3rd.

In the Rookies class with 8-12 year old contenders, Channing Lowery of Paducah, KY led 14 of the 15 lap
feature to gain his victory Saturday night with Alex Case of Bardwell, KY coming in 2nd and Shawn Knuckles
of Poplar Bluff, MO placing 3rd.  In Stock Light (15yrs & up) Kyle Kemp of Charleston, MO visited victory lane
with David Pobst of Oran, MO finishing 2nd.  Stock Medium Class (15yrs & up) had Jason Randolph of
Metropolis, IL taking the checkered flag with Danny Coomer placing 2nd and Dusty Baggett coming in third.  
Junior Sportsman Champ class for 8-12 year olds once again had Colby Burge of Cape Girardeau, MO in
victory lane with his cousin Taylor Burge of Puxico, MO coming in 2nd and Cordie Burkman of Malden, MO
placing 3rd.  Junior Stock Class with 12-15 year olds had new comer Casey Montague of Lebanon taking his
first victory at SEMO with Kyle Oberkramer of Broseley, MO in 2nd and Derrick Rucker of West Paducah
placing 3rd.

In the Over 35 Class Derek Riley of Calvert City, KY place 1st with Roger Andrews of Marion, IL following for
second place. David Gonzales of Sikeston, MO placed 3rd.  

In Junior Champ's with 11-15 year olds we had Benton, KY's Meagan Skees fly to her first victory at SEMO
with Jared Hendrickson of Gilbertsville, KY coming in a close 2nd and Brittney Childers of Morley, MO placing
3rd.

SEMO Raceway will be back in action September 13th with an exciting show of sportsman’s from the five
state region. SEMO welcomes each and every one of you out to see contenders race for a $500 payout in
THE O'Reilly 100 where the contenders will race 100 laps NASCAR style.  This race will be nothing short of
total amazement.  Regular point’s classes will also run.  Spectator Gates open 6:30pm with $5.00 admission
